As an aspiring actor, Dean took a bit part in this popular TV sit-com early in his career. Airing in February 1952, this is his second TV appearance. Dr. Paul Popense moderates unrehearsed divorce hearings with real couples (not actors). Mr. & Mrs. L. seek divorce on the grounds of extreme cruelty and excessive drinking. They have to "censor" Mrs. L. when she's talking about her husband! Other couples have problems too. A wife is caught in a motel. A man spends all the money on his model plane hobby. A husband says his spendthrift wife wants more than $65 a week to live on. He says: "This woman can spend $25 in three days." That is grounds for divorce in any book, isn't it? One of the earliest exploitation TV talk shows.

Jerry "Jolson" Lewis stars in a modern version of the Samson Rafelson play which formed the basis for the first successful talking feature-length movie in 1927. This updated version was aired October 13, 1959 on NBC. Starring with Jerry Lewis is Eduard Franz, Molly Picon, Alan "Flintstones" Reed, and Anna Maria Alberghetti. In this adaptation, Lewis plays a small time night club comic-singer (a sort of one man Martin and Lewis) who is about to get a big break on national television but is at odds with his father who is a Cantor that feels his son is not in the proper vocation. When the father falls ill, Jerry must grapple with filling in for his ailing father or perform on television for his big break.
